Looking back

From the founder

I am thrilled to share that Fifty Nifty & More is celebrating its fourth anniversary this month.
Since Aingeel Talley and I founded the organization in 2022, we have remained dedicated to serving our "Tribe" of unapologetic Black women aged 50 and older through our newsletter and website. With the ongoing support of Alexis Sturdivant, Editorial Manager; Gerard Greenwich, Technical Advisor and Oscar Edwards, Marketing Advisor we continue to grow, welcoming new groups of women each year who benefit from our community and content.

A major accomplishment last year was the production of our first video show. I am incredibly proud of our Fifty Nifty Show Team under the leadership of Director Errol Parker, featuring Host Pamala Pitcher; Program Manager, Shannon Murray, and Senior Researcher, Dr. Elaine Gill. We are also deeply grateful to our generous sponsor, the Black Infant Health Project, led by Gwendolyn Manning. You can view the Show now on The Fifty Nifty YouTube channel or directly on our website.

In honor of this Fourth year milestone, we featured several insightful articles this month that I believe you will truly enjoy. Furthermore, in response to your feedback regarding limited reading time, we are excited to introduce a new audio feature. Thanks to my niece, Althea Vyfhuis—an accomplished actress and voice-over artist—you can now listen to her read our articles while you’re on the go.

I encourage you to visit our website at www.fiftyniftyandmore.com to explore these latest updates and celebrate four years with us. As we continue to evolve, slowly but surely with your help, I would greatly appreciate your referrals, comments, and suggestions. It truly takes a village, and I thank you for your continued support.

4 years.
